The Judge of the III Additional District and Sessions Court-cum-Principal Family Court of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, M. Venkateswara Rao, delivered a historic judgment, awarding the death penalty to the prime accused for the barbaric murder of the young boy.

The second accused, who was involved in the destruction of evidence, was sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment.

Sharing the case details, the police said driven by financial disputes and personal animosity, Imran Ali Khan alias Fiza, who is accused number one (A1) kidnapped an eight-year-old boy on April 20, 2023, and brutally strangled him to death.

The prime accused, Imran Ali Khan, had lent a sum of Rs.1 lakh to the boy’s father, Wasim Khan. Out of anger over the non-repayment of the loan amount, the accused committed this heinous crime. The accused strangled the boy inside his own residence.

Subsequently, with the assistance of Mohammed Rafiq, the body was stuffed into a bucket and dumped into a nearby nala. Mohammed Rafiq aided the prime accused in hiding the body and destroying vital evidence.

Following a complaint lodged by the boy’s father with the Sanathnagar police stating that his son was missing, the police initiated an investigation. Upon reviewing CCTV footage, the movements of the accused were clearly identified.

By presenting foolproof and scientific evidence before the court, the prosecution successfully established the guilt of the accused. The court sentenced the prime accused, Imran Ali Khan alias Fiza, to death along with a fine of Rs.10,000.

Additionally, he was awarded life imprisonment for kidnapping and another seven years of rigorous imprisonment for the destruction of evidence. The second accused, Mohammed Rafiq, was sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for his role in the destruction of evidence.

Speaking on the occasion, the Police Commissioner stated, “This judgment serves as a stern warning to offenders who commit such barbaric acts that make society hang its head in shame. Our recently established ‘Investigation Monitoring Cell’, which aims to provide timely justice to victims, played a pivotal role in this case. Under the supervision of DCP Crimes S. Chaitanya Kumar and OSD Malla Reddy, the monitoring of special cases is being actively conducted.”

The Police Commissioner appreciated the seamless coordination between the investigative officers and the prosecution wing in ensuring justice for the aggrieved family.
