Man Killed By Tiger At Yorkshire Wildlife Park Was Allegedly Autistic, Did Not Have A Carer With Him

The Yorkshire Wildlife Park in England recently saw a tragic incident when a man was mauled to death by a tiger on October 10, 2026. The individual, who was reportedly in his 20s, had entered the animal’s enclosure when the incident happened. Footage of him being attacked by the tiger, along with his attempts to save himself, has gone viral on social media. Now, an onlooker who claims to have been present at the site of the tragedy is revealing more details.

The man who jumped into the tiger enclosure seemed autistic and without a carer

In the tragic occurrence, the twenty-something man entered the caged area of tigers at England’s Yorkshire Wildlife Park, most likely without taking prior permission. A visitor who claimed to have seen the man moments before his death has urged the public not to rush to judgement.

According to them, this time calls for compassion. The visitor, whose name is Richard White, took to X (formerly Twitter) and said that he and his group were leaving the park that afternoon when the victim walked past them.

Richard claimed that he could immediately tell that the man was autistic and deaf. Despite this, the victim did not seem to have a career or family member in sight. The tweet can be read as:

“FYI, we were at Yorkshire Wildlife Park at the same time as the young man who sadly lost his life. He walked past us as we were leaving, not a carer or family member in sight. Could tell he was autistic and deaf straight away. It’s quick to judge; just remember he’s got a family. RIP. Begs the question: how has he got into the enclosure so easily?”

The post has already garnered thousands of likes and over a million views online. Many replies focused on the lack of supervision. While others questioned how Richard could tell that the victim was deaf and autistic, he clarified that it was because he has experience working with deaf and autistic children.

Parents of autistic children in the replies noted the victim’s actions indeed make sense, taking Richard’s account into consideration. A user said that his autistic daughter has zero concept of danger, adding, “If she wanted to cuddle a tiger, she would find a way in and not think of the consequences one bit.” Another user wrote:

“I thought he had autism/learning difficulties from his actions in the enclosure – back to the tiger, unusual body movements, no attempt to stand and get away, etc.”

Yorkshire Wildlife Park victim wanted to just play with the tiger before it grabbed his neck

According to reports, the man who was pronounced dead at the scene wanted to just play with the tiger that killed him. A female eyewitness who claimed to have observed the victim for nearly 20 minutes before the tragedy unfolded said that she initially saw the man with his EarPods in. He was dancing and enjoying seeing the tiger. The eyewitness said, “I’m not sure if he was with a carer or family member, but I honestly do think he just wanted to play with the tiger.”
