
Hyderabad: A man allegedly murdered his gambling partner over an unpaid loan of Rs 1,200, near a liquor shop in Padmaraonagar on Thursday. Chilkalguda station house officer Ramakrishna identified the victim Mohammed Aleem and the alleged assailants as Syed Ilyas and his associate Jahangir.
Police said Aleem had borrowed `1200 from Jahangir for gambling a few weeks back. On Thursday, the three gathered at the liquor shop to drink. A quarrel broke out between them and Ilyas and Jahangir allegedly stabbed Aleem with a knife.
Police tracked down Ilyas using CCTV footage and arrested him. A special team had been formed to arrest Jahangir. Ilyas reportedly told the police that the trio was good friends and habituated to gambling. Aleem had allegedly delayed repayments to Jahangir, police said.
60-yr-old Hyd Merchant Succumbs To Injuries After Being Hit By Water Tanker
Hyderabad: A. Satyanarayana, a 60-year-old cloth merchant, succumbed to injuries he sustained after he was hit by a water tanker at Isnapur crossroads on Thursday. Patancheru police said Satyanarayana was heading towards his shop in Isnapur on a bike laden with clothes when the water tanker hit his vehicle from behind at about 11 am. The police seized the water tanker while the driver managed to escape. The victim’s body was handed over to his family after postmortem.
Banjara Hills Cop Booked For Obtaining Rs 20L Loan Producing Forged Documents
Hyderabad: Banjara Hills constable M. Mahesh has been booked for obtaining a `20 lakh loan from a bank by allegedly producing forged documents. The case came into following a complaint by Bitin Kumar Maurya, chief manager of Bank of Baroda Masab Tank branch.
During investigation, it was found that Mahesh, belonging to the 8th Battalion, repaid only two EMIs and stopped subsequent payments. When the bank rechecked his documents, officials noticed that the papers were fake and two different PAN cards were submitted. “We are verifying documents submitted by Mahesh,” said Banjara Hills station house officer Nagaraju.
Man Booked For ‘Blackmailing’ Girlfriend
Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police said they had booked one Raj Singh for allegedly blackmailing and threatening his alleged girlfriend. Police said Raj Singh had met the victim in 2003, while he was an Intermediate student and the girl was in school.
Singh got married in 2010, allegedly without the knowledge of the victim. He continued the alleged affair with the victim all along.
The victim in her complaint with the police stated that two days back Singh’s wife came to know about his relationship, went to her office and created a nuisance. Following this, Singh allegedly started blackmailing her by threatening to make public their intimate pictures, and to murder her in an attempt to silence her, police said.
Police recorded the victim’s complaint in presence of woman personnel and booked a case against Raj Singh and his family, an official said.
