Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko will undergo tests this week after withdrawing from the Slovenia squad for their opening UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Sesko scored 12 goals last season after joining from RB Leipzig, helping United finish third in the Premier League.
But he has struggled for fitness to start the 2026-27 campaign, in which he has scored two goals so far.
Sesko missed Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Fulham after re-aggravating a shin injury in their EFL Cup defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.
And he will not feature for his country as they face Scotland twice along with games against North Macedonia and Switzerland.
A statement from United read: “Benjamin will undergo tests this week before defining his individual recovery plan.”
United’s next game is on October 10, when the Premier League returns following an extended international break. The Red Devils will host winless Tottenham at Old Trafford, with both United manager Michael Carrick and Spurs boss Roberto De Zerbi likely to head into the match under substantial pressure following poor starts.
