The Manly Boat Harbour has been evacuated after several vessels caught fire shortly after 3pm on Monday.
Residents and passers-by reported black smoke billowing from the harbour over the nearby Royal Esplanade.
Emergency services arrived at about 3.20pm, locating the fire on the eastern coast of the marina – a spit that juts out from the shore.
Police evacuated the marina and assisted fire crews, who worked to contain the fire that fully engulfed two boats. Officers said one of the burning vessels was close to a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bottle.
About 20 minutes after arriving, the fire was contained, with crews extinguishing the blaze about 3.45pm.
Paramedics reported no injuries, but remained at the scene while fire crews conducted searches of both vessels.
