USA versus Australia created arguably one of the best atmospheres of the 2026 World Cup. Fans of both countries packed the streets of Seattle ahead of Friday’s match at Lumen Field.

Marshawn Lynch was a familiar face in the city and even delivered a pregame speech to eager USA fans outside the stadium. Lynch, who has become quite the career connoisseur since retiring from the NFL, took his photography skills to the pitch Friday.

Lynch has spent the last few NFL seasons as a credentialed sports photographer, but is using the World Cup to expand his professional resume. The Super Bowl champion was seen on the sidelines at the USA-Australia match with his camera.

Sports photography isn’t the only hobby Lynch enjoys as the 40-year-old joined the cast of the show Euphoria for Season 3. “Beast Mode” has also appeared in the 2023 comedy film Bottoms and series such as “Westworld” and “Murderville.”

From actor to photographer, the former Seahawks star has taken full advantage of his post-NFL days.

The early success of the U.S. men’s national team has served as the catalyst for the return of soccer buzz stateside. The USMNT set an all-time American soccer viewership record in their World Cup opening win against Paraguay, which drew a total of 27.5 million viewers across FOX and Telemundo platforms.

The match marked the most-viewed soccer game in U.S. television history, exceeding viewership of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Anthonio Spurs and the 2025 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays.

Soccer is alive and well in America.
