Matt Rife Under Fire For Making 'Insensitive' Remark On A Ghost Hunter With Autism, 'Kill Yourself'

Comedian Matt Rife is getting nonstop hate on social media, mainly from the paranormal investigation community, after he made a remark to a ghost hunter. Matt Rife is a well-known comedian who began his career at 15 with stand-up comedy and gained massive attention on platforms like TikTok and Instagram.

Since then, Matt has never looked back, and he has continued to establish his name even more strongly, releasing several self-produced comedy specials like Only Fans, Walking Red Flag, and Netflix’s Natural Selection. The recent controversy stemmed from a post Matt Rife dropped about an upcoming event at the Haunted Warren Museum in Salem. To mention, Matt Rife and YouTuber Elton Castee purchased the site last year, which made them the legal guardians of the infamous Anabelle doll and other haunted collection for at least five years.

Matt Rife gets blasted on social media for asking a ghost hunter to kill himself

Coming back to the controversy, as Matt Rife dropped the post on social media, a local creator, who is a paranormal investigator, made a comment. The self-described paranormal investigator, Chris Mac, replied to Matt and his team by bringing up the history and lessons of the Salem Witch Trials.

It couldn’t be confirmed where Matt Rife felt offended, as he replied to the comment with such remarks that it instantly grabbed attention. Replying to Mac’s comment, Matt called him a ‘lifeless douchebag’, and asked him to ‘remove himself from the world’. Chris then took to his social media and hit back at Matt’s comments. He called out Mac for his comments and added that it’s not okay to ask a person with autism to kill himself. Adding that Matt should opt for therapy, Chris Mac wrote:

“I don’t want ever ever want [to] see Matt bully a person with autism again do I make myself clear not ok to say with a person with autism I have autism.”

Chris Mac, though not so popular, got support from the ones who follow him. Matt Rife is getting blasted on social media for his comments, which have been tagged as ‘insensitive’. On the other hand, sources revealed to TMZ that Matt often gets bullied on social media, and way too much, which leads him to react.

According to the sources, when Matt replies to the bully, the commenters remove their own remark, leaving the comedian’s statements to look like they don’t have any context. A similar pattern was reportedly followed in the latest incident as well. According to the sources, it could be that Mac deleted his own comments, and now Matt’s statements are grabbing attention. To add, right now, there is no thread of remarks from Matt regarding Mac’s autism. The sources also revealed that there is no evidence of Matt knowing Mac’s history with autism.

Chris Mac reportedly has blasted Matt Rife for some other reasons

Now that Chris Mac and Matt Rife’s tension has intensified, another past incident has been resurfacing. According to reports, Chris Mac didn’t comment to Matt Rife for the first time. Apparently, Matt Rife was previously blasted by Chris Mac for charging a 166 US dollar admission fee. According to Mac, both Matt and his partner, Castee, prioritised profit associated with paranormal investigation.

What do you think about the controversy around Matt Rife that was caused by his comments on Chris Mac?
