Despite my personal best efforts to see Matt Rife fade into obscurity, the guy continues to be one of the top touring comedians in the country. This week, he performed in Los Angeles for a star-studded audience, including Sydney Sweeney and her new beau Scooter Braun. At the L.A. Laugh Factory show, Rife’s second opener Erik Griffin, 53, took the opportunity to tear into Sweeney, 28.
Griffin said that Sweeney’s “titties are always out.” It was no secret that Sweeney and Braun were in attendance, as they sat in the VIP section of the club. This seemed to embolden Griffin. “She’s at the pharmacy and her titties are out — it’s wild,” Griffin joked. “For no reason.”
Fortunately, Sweeney is either a great actress or has a very self-deprecating sense of humor, as she doubled over in laughter at being the subject of Griffin’s ribbing — though to be fair, it’s not like Sweeney had much freedom to express frustration or indignation. In Rife’s later set, he said that people who are offended by his jokes are “fucking r*****d”

It’s no surprise that Sweeney was at Rife’s show — he was one of the most vocal defenders of her controversial ad for American Eagle earlier this year as well as her decision to sell bathwater-scented soap. Which to be fair, were weird career moves for a woman who has the makings of a true movie star.
“I keep seeing people mad at Sydney Sweeney for noooothing,” Matt Rife tweeted back in August. “She’s learning that the internet is full of absolute garbage losers who will twist anything you say into a cunty misinterpretation. People are awful”
I’m glad that Sweeney can laugh when she’s the butt of the joke. But girl, if you ever find a man’s joke about your tits funny, you’re under no obligation to laugh.
