Meet ‘Danny Go!’s, Daniel Coleman’s Wife, Mindy, Know Their Love Story Amid 14 YO Son, Isaac’s Death

Daniel Coleman, the creator and star of the popular children’s YouTube series, Danny Go! is currently undergoing one of the hardest phases of his life. With a heavy heart, he announced that his teenage son, Isaac Daniel Coleman, passed away on May 21, 2026. What makes the incident even more tragic is that Daniel loves kids, which is evident from the live-action educational YouTube content he creates for young children. The death of a child is a parent’s worst nightmare, and Daniel and his wife, Mindy, are currently going through it. Here’s a look at their family life as they navigate the tough time.

Who is Daniel Coleman’s wife, Mindy Coleman?

Mindy Coleman (maiden name Odell) is Daniel Coleman’s biggest support system, both personally and professionally. Mindy is an active part of the Coleman family-run, Danny Go! She plays the recurring live-action character ‘Mindy Mango’ on the show, a favourite among young children, available on platforms like YouTube and Netflix. Mindy’s character is described as a health-conscious farmer who loves dancing, especially along with rainbow disco unicorns. Behind the scenes, she is a creative artist and photographer who also hand-dyes Daniel’s signature teal outfits for the show.

Daniel’s wife kept her Instagram private; however, she showcased her love for him through her bio. It reads, “Co Captain with @danielspaniels.” Mindy and Daniel launched Danny Go! together in 2019. As per their website, it is a “show filled with music, movement and silliness.” Besides her association with the show, she worked as an artist or freelance photographer, according to The Knot. Not much about her early life and background is known.

How did Mindy Coleman and Daniel Coleman’s love story start?

Mindy liked Daniel immediately upon meeting at the University of North Carolina campus, noting that he was “gorgeous and sweet and a drummer.” Sharing their love story with The Knot, she said that she “always liked drummers”, and it fetched Daniel some brownie points. Soon after their meeting, the couple began their relationship by messaging each other on Facebook. One day, Mindy updated her Facebook status asking if someone would meet her at Starbucks for her lunch break. Now comes the fun part; Daniel wanted to respond to the post, but his computer died.

Determined to see Mindy, Daniel drove 40 minutes to the campus, used a computer there to email her about lunch, and then waited two hours to make sure he wouldn’t miss her. Thus, their first lunch date was nothing short of a movie. Mindy later recalled, during a conversation with The Knot, that it was on that very day that Daniel knew they would end up together. She stated:

“He [Daniel] left [the campus] that day knowing we would get married.”

Ten months into dating and Daniel knew Mindy was the one for him. He decided to pop the question by taking her to their favourite picnic spot. For dessert, he pulled out a bag of clementines, their favourite fruit. He had written his favourite nicknames for Mindy, his “Sweetsie,” on each fruit. The final clementine was hollowed out and filled with green tissue paper and an engagement ring as per The Knot. Daniel proposed to her, and she said yes. The couple spent the next three-and-a-half months planning an informal, outdoor wedding. They wanted bold colours and a picnic-style atmosphere for their wedding ceremony.

The exact date of Daniel and Mindy’s wedding is not publicly known; however, according to Lydia Jane’s blog, it was a vintage backyard ceremony held in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mindy wore a simple white gown, and her bridesmaids donned purple gowns with black sleeves. As for the groom, he and his groomsmen wore matching white shirts, beige pants, and black checkered waistcoats. They have since built a life together in North Carolina and become parents to two kids. Their first son, Isaac Coleman, was born on October 3, 2011, in Huntersville, and they welcomed their second son, Levi Coleman, in 2015.

Isaac was born with a rare genetic disorder called Fanconi anaemia. The disease stunts bone marrow production and destroys the body’s ability to repair DNA. Despite undergoing numerous medical procedures, he survived until his teens. He even reportedly underwent a critical kidney transplant in March 2021; however, nothing could save him. In December 2025, Daniel Coleman shared that Isaac had developed stage 3 mouth cancer. Despite a surgery in January 2026, the cancer continued to spread rapidly, ultimately proving fatal. Isaac passed away at 14 years of age after a brave battle with the ailment.
