The fantasy action film has an ensemble cast, which also includes Anne Hathaway, playing the role of ‘Penelope.’ This even marks the third collaboration between Anne and Christopher after Interstellar and The Dark Knight Rises. Anne’s character is one of the leads in the movie. While the latest trailer is trending everywhere, Anne’s personal life has come into the limelight.

Adam Shulman’s acting debut reportedly started in 2005, with a show called American Dreams. Adam portrayed ‘Paul O’Bannon’ in five episodes of the series. His credits also include a short film, The Gold Lunch. In 2006, he played a small role in an episode of another show, The West Wing. Adam has been featured in two more films, Ricki and the Flash and The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning. Adam has additionally produced a film, Song One, released in 2014.

Born on April 2, 1981, Adam Shulman obtained a B.A. in theatre from Brown University in 2003. He has even pursued a career as a jewelry designer and is the co-owner of a company called James Banks Design. Apart from him, Neidi Nahser Fink, another designer, also owns the company. Adam and Neidi joined forces to operate the company when the former was planning to create a pendant for Anne Hathaway. Notably, Shulman pitched his ideas for the pendant to Neidi, who was impressed by his work and told Adam to become a jewelry designer.

Anne Hathaway was romantically linked to Raffaello Folliero when she first met Adam Shulman at the Palm Springs Film Festival in 2008. However, the pair slowly started getting attracted to each other while Anne was busy hosting Saturday Night Live in the same year. In 2010, Anne recalled in an interview with Vogue that it took some time for her and Adam to get along with each other.

The romance was confirmed after Adam and Anne appeared together at the premiere of A Streetcar Named Desire in New York City in 2009. They continued attending more events and got engaged in 2011. This was followed by their wedding in California in 2012, and the ceremony was attended by almost 150 guests, as per PEOPLE. Anne and Adam had a son named Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman in 2016. Three years later, the couple became the parents of another child, Jack, in 2019. Anne spoke about Adam in her cover story to PEOPLE in April 2026, saying that he has always supported her and that he is also the most extraordinary person she has ever met. Hathaway further stated:

“I’m so lucky that he’s my partner that I spend my life with. If I didn’t know that before this past year, I think I really know it now because with absolutely everything he’s just, he’s on it. He holds it down. I hope that doesn’t sound like I’m bragging, but he’s a dream partner to me.”

Anne Hathaway is playing Penelope in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey

The Odyssey, which is releasing on July 17, 2026, will focus on the Greek king of Ithaca, Odysseus, who wishes to return to his wife, Penelope, after the Trojan War. ‘Penelope’ is being played by Anne Hathaway, and Matt Damon has been cast as the lead, ‘Odysseus.’ Back in April 2026, Anne Hathaway reacted to a snap featuring her in the film. The actress did not disclose a lot of details about the film in the interview. However, she reacted to the photo by saying:

“I am actually emotional looking at this because the film is coming out very soon at the time of filming this video. I have not seen it yet. So, I’ve actually seen very little of what it is that we made.”
