Megan Pickford shared the wedding anniversary gift husband Jordan Pickford sent her to celebrate four years of marriage while he trains for England’s game next week
There’s not many excuses a spouse can give for not being available for a wedding anniversary – but playing in the World Cup is perhaps one of them. But it seems England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, 32, has set the bar high, even for himself, as he had a gift waiting for wife Megan to celebrate their wedding anniversary while away training for the Three Lions’ second World Cup tie.
Ahead of England’s match against Ghana on Tuesday, Megan travelled to Boston. But unfortunately, her holiday did not get off to a good start as she shared with fans that her luggage went missing.
Despite not being physically there, Jordan surprised Megan with rose petals in her hotel room which led to the bedroom, a large bouquet of roses and a heartfelt message to celebrate four years of marriage.
Posting a brief clip of her surprise on TikTok, she captioned the post saying: “Husband still making our anniversary special across the states.”
England gave the nation hope on Wednesday following a 4-2 win against Croatia. According to sources, Megan has been inspired by fellow WAGs Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney and Alex Gerrard. A source told the Daily Mail: “Some joke, in a kind way, that she’s a bit of a throwback to the old times but it’s just so refreshing.”
They added: “She loves it all – the outfits, the glamour and the prestigious role and column inches being a WAG brings. She is so proud of Jordan and so the least she can do is look the part to cheer him on.
“But in all seriousness, along with Kate Kane – wife of captain Harry – she is the longest-serving partner of the squad. This is her moment to shine, and she will.”
Megan was still in primary school during the 2006 World Cup but it looks as though she may have been taking notes if her attire was anything to go by.
Watching England play Croatia at Dallas location, Megan donned a cowboy hat with a number one emblazoned on the front of it, which is the same number as her husband’s goalkeeper shirt.
She teamed her look with a white vest top and a pair of designer jeans, showing off her incredible figure.
She completed her look with a pair of Gucci sunglasses and a necklace which spelt out her daughter’s name.
Providing fans with an update on her suitcase drama, she told fans: “Just flew next destination Jordan’s brother stayed in Dallas to collect my suitcase that was arriving this afternoon.
“He had a flight booked later this evening. I brought his suitcase with me on my flight. When he went to collect my case they said they have to hold it in customs for 24 hours.
“He’s now waiting in Dallas for my suitcase to clear and the next flight is Saturday. And I now have his suitcase so he can’t brush his teeth.”
She ended her post jokingly saying: “For the invested huns.”
One fans replied saying: “You couldn’t make it up, but on the flip side I can’t wait to see your next outfit. PS make sure you buy spare toothbrushes and pack them in hand luggage.”
In response Megan said: “I’m waiting for Ant and Dec to jump out and tell me it’s a prank.”
