Visakhapatnam: Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) has entered into a collaboration with Native Araku Coffee Pvt. Ltd. to establish 100 coffee outlets across urban and municipal regions.

The initiative was announced by Ram Kumar Varma P, CEO of Native Araku Coffee, who said it is the outcome of sustained efforts to expand sustainable livelihood opportunities into urban ecosystems.

The partnership builds on Native Araku Coffee’s earlier work with the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), where the company supported women-led enterprises and created sustainable income sources in rural areas. Varma said these experiences have provided a strong foundation for replicating similar models in urban regions.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed with MEPMA, 100 coffee outlets will be set up and operationalised. The plan also includes training, capacity building and entrepreneurial support for women in municipal areas.

The outlets will promote sustainably sourced Native Araku Coffee while serving as centres for community-based economic activity.

Ram Kumar Varma said the collaboration is aimed at strengthening women’s economic empowerment while promoting the unique identity of Native Araku Coffee. “We believe this combined effort, rooted in our success with SERP and strengthened through collaboration with MEPMA, will significantly enhance women’s economic empowerment while promoting the unique identity of Native Araku Coffee,” he said.
