Met Gala 2026: Everything you need to know about fashion’s biggest night
- Fashion’s biggest night is set to dazzle as the Met Gala returns on May 4 with the theme “Fashion is Art.”
- This year’s “Costume Art” exhibition will pair 200 art objects with 200 garments to showcase the connection between fashion and art through the centuries. The event will inaugurate the new Conde M. Nast Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
- Beyoncé leads an A-list lineup of co-chairs including Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Vogue’s Anna Wintour. “The exhibition and benefit are made possible by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos,” according to a Met press release.
- The fundraiser for the Costume Institute raised a record £24 million last year, with individual tickets costing a staggering £80,000 each. Around 400 guests will attend the exclusive bash.
- The exhibition features groundbreaking body positivity elements, including 25 new mannequins reflecting diverse body types often ignored in art history. Disability activist Sinéad Burke and musician Yseult were among nine people who had their bodies digitally scanned for the inclusive display.
- Guests can expect the usual glamorous proceedings – from the famous red carpet to cocktails, before heading to dinner at the Temple of Dendur where some fashionably late arrivals won’t show up until dessert.
- This year, guests include Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Teyana Taylor and Zoe Kravitz, while Kim Kardashian and her sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, are among the regulars.
