Michael Jordan has seen plenty of frustrating moments as a NASCAR team owner, but his reaction to Tyler Reddick’s latest setback said just about everything.
The NBA legend and 23XI Racing co-owner was caught on camera throwing his hands into the air after Reddick crashed on pit road during Friday’s NASCAR Cup Series practice at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The incident came in the closing seconds of the session, just two days before Sunday’s championship race. And for a team already enduring a difficult season, the timing could hardly have been worse.
NASCAR shared footage of Jordan’s reaction on social media, capturing his visible frustration as the No. 45 Toyota sustained damage in an unusual three-car incident.
Michael Jordan Reacts as Tyler Reddick’s Practice Ends in a Crash
The trouble began as Todd Gilliland slowed considerably while entering pit road, preparing to make a left turn into the garage area.
Behind him, Zane Smith and Reddick were approaching at speed.

Smith locked up his brakes as he encountered the slowing traffic, but Reddick, following directly behind, couldn’t avoid contact. His No. 45 Toyota struck the rear of Smith’s car, sustaining front-end damage.
It was an especially frustrating way to end the lone Cup Series practice session ahead of Sunday’s championship finale.
Jordan, watching from the 23XI Racing garage area, reacted immediately. Video showed the six-time NBA champion raising his hands in apparent disbelief before turning toward others nearby.
The moment quickly became part of NASCAR’s social media coverage of the incident, offering another glimpse of just how invested Jordan remains in his team’s performance.

But while Jordan’s reaction drew attention, Reddick’s assessment of the crash was considerably more telling.
Tyler Reddick Admits Crash ‘Sums Up Our Year’
Speaking with TNT Sports afterward, Reddick made little effort to hide his disappointment.
“It just, it sums up our year,” Reddick said.
“When we have something that’s really solid, we find a way to screw it up. Me and Zane were both coming to pit road hot. Kinda almost at the point of no return.”
Reddick explained that the situation developed quickly as Smith encountered the slower car ahead.
“I realized he was really checking up big. I saw there was like a car ahead turning into the garage. So, I’m guessing that’s where all of our troubles started.”

He added: “We were both coming hot and expecting to roll down pit road. That’s just what it felt like.”
The frustration was understandable. Reddick and the No. 45 team entered the championship weekend hoping to finish their season on a positive note, only to find themselves dealing with damage before Sunday’s race had even begun.
For Jordan, the crash was another unwelcome reminder of how quickly things can unravel in NASCAR, even during a routine practice session.
And while the 23XI Racing owner didn’t need to say a word, the cameras captured a reaction that told the story.
