KADAPA: Kadapa district in-charge and BC Welfare minister S. Savita on Wednesday stressed the need for coordinated and result-oriented efforts by officials and public representatives to position YSR Kadapa district in the forefront across all sectors.

Addressing a district-level review meeting at the Collectorate, she said officials must function as an effective bridge between the government and the people, ensuring that welfare schemes and development programmes reach every eligible beneficiary without fail. She underscored the importance of transparency, accountability, and corruption-free governance in achieving sustainable growth.

The minister said the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is focusing on both welfare and rapid development, with the broader aim of eliminating poverty and realising the “Swarna Andhra–2047” vision. She called upon all departments to work in close coordination and ensure effective implementation of flagship programmes at the grassroots levels.

Savita said collective commitment, efficient governance, and effective implementation of schemes at grassroots would be key to transforming Kadapa into a leading investment destination.

District collector Dr. Sreedhar Cherukuri, in a detailed presentation, highlighted that the district’s Gross District Domestic Product (GDDP) for 2025–26 is estimated at ₹79,627 crore, placing it eighth in the state, while per capita income stands at ₹2.83 lakh. He outlined plans to scale up the district economy to ₹13.26 lakh crore by 2047 through sustained growth across agriculture, industry, and services sectors.

The collector pointed to key initiatives, such as “Startup Kadapa,” the Invest Kadapa Centre, which are expected to boost employment and attract investments.
