Mis-Teeq singer Su-Elise Nash has revealed her shock at finding out there will be no further concerts for the band despite her believing they were ready to continue their comeback
Mis-Teeq star Su-Elise Nash has been left stunned to hear that the band is splitting just a week after their reunion concert. She revealed she was fully expecting to announce further shows and ready to put pen to paper as soon as today.
But she went on to find out the band will disband amid claims Sabrina Washington will be going solo. Su-Elise shared her surprise and devastation in an Instagram post, confirming she only found out after media reports published a press release.
Su-Elise wrote on Instagram it was “news to me” as she shared a poster advertising Sabrina’s tour and claiming the band had split. She captioned her post: “As far as I was aware, today was our deadline to make a decision on some incredible Mis-Teeq offers for 2027.
“Including headlining a major UK festival, performing at another huge UK festival and potentially taking the show regional for everyone who couldn’t make Wembley.
“After the incredible response to our sold-out Wembley Arena show, I genuinely believed these were opportunities we were all excited about and hopefully saying YES to today as Mis-Teeq! So to find out that a press release went out to media today saying ‘Mis-Teeq have split’ has taken me by surprise.”
She went on:” That’s news to me… Either way, I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved at Wembley and so grateful to everyone who came out and supported us.”
Sabrina, 47, Alesha Dixon, 47, and Su-Elise, 45, put on an electric performance at Wembley to mark 25 years since their debut album Lickin’ on Both Sides. Forgotten original member Zena McNally also made a surprise appearance.
But Sabrina revealed now isn’t time for the band to make a longer comeback. Speaking to The Sun, she said: “We have had such a massive year together and I’m really proud of what we achieved.
“We got to come back 25 years later, perform together again and finish with a sold-out Wembley show. It was a really special way to celebrate everything the three of us created together.”
She addd: “But there aren’t any further Mis-Teeq dates or new music planned and we’ve all gone back to doing our own things now. For me, though, I wasn’t ready for the celebration to end there.”
Sabrina is said to be keen on recreating the atmosphere of a noughties night out on her tour.
She is thought to be working on a show that will include Js, dancers, special guests, surprises and familiar faces from the industry joining her at different dates.
For Su-Elise, though, it remains to be seen what her next move is. There have been rumours that she will enter the I’m A Celebrity camp later in the year.
