No more telling. In November, the Tigers can show they belong.
Major College Football Playoff implications are at stake Saturday as Missouri football hosts Texas on Faurot Field in Columbia. The Tigers checked in at No. 18 in the opening CFP rankings of the year, and the Longhorns were No. 7.

That essentially makes this a must-win matchup for Mizzou (6-2, 3-2 SEC) if it wants to make the 12-team field. Eli Drinkwitz’s team faces three of the top seven teams in the initial CFP rankings in the next three weeks.
Texas (6-2, 3-2) has a little more margin for error. The Longhorns have wins over Ohio State, Ole Miss and Tennessee so far this year, which has Steve Sarkisian’s crew in position to make the playoff.
Missouri can shake the standings up with a win Saturday, but it’s going to take one of the better performances in recent memory.
