If you thought Steph Curry’s golf rabbit hole stopped at celebrity pro-ams and championing junior programs, think again.
The four-time NBA World Champion is diving straight into the deep end of gear nerd-dom, and he brought heavy hitters with him.
Curry is launching a new collaborative iron set with Miura Golf inspired by the Golden State Warriors star’s personal iron set. Yes, since leaving Callaway last year, Steph has been gaming a combo of the Miura TC-202 and MB-101.
Go back and watch the breaking 50 match with Bryson DeChambeau.
For gear junkies, the setup alone is pure art. It’s a dialed combo set pairing Miura’s forgiving-yet-precise TC-202 cavity backs in the long irons (4–6) with the buttery-soft MB-101 blades in the scoring irons (7–PW). They went with Miura’s sleek, highly durable black QPQ finish across the board, giving them a menacing, premium look that immediately catches your eye in the rack.
True to form, though, it’s the custom details that make these special. Take the 6-iron: the loft has been bent to 30 degrees to bridge the set gaps, and instead of a standard “6,” the sole is stamped with his signature “30”. Look at the hosel, and you’ll find the exact phrase Curry writes on his game kicks—“I can do all things”—laser-engraved right there.
They didn’t skimp on the components, either. We’re talking Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shafts in a custom “SC30 Flex” (S400), paired with custom BB&F Co. ferrules and grips featuring four gold rings honoring each of his NBA rings. His personal Curry brand logo is stamped cleanly on every head, too.
Here’s the rub, though: because Miura’s forging process takes forever, mass production isn’t happening. Miura is making only 300 sets worldwide. Each box comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, and 30 of those certificates are actually signed by Steph himself.
A portion of the proceeds goes straight to his Underrated Golf Tour, keeping his mission alive to open up pathways for underrepresented kids.
If you want a set, you’re going to need lightning-fast reflexes. These things are going to vanish faster than Steph pulling up in transition. The sets will become available on Oct. 19 and you can secure yours — if you’re quick enough — for $5,000.
You can sign up on Miura’s website to be notified about the release.
