Three clubs are tied for 1st to 3rd place with two rounds remaining in the Croatian League regular season.

Mladost, Jadran, and Jug are in a three-horse race. Mladost emerged as the winner of the week by defeating Jadran 15:12 in the 14th round derby match. Meanwhile, Jug secured a convincing 22:9 victory over Mornar.

Jadran, the visiting team in the derby, took the lead only once, scoring the goal in its first possession. Mladost replied with three goals (3:1). Early in the second period, the hosts increased the lead to four (6:2). The Zagreb-based side dictated the pace and stretched the margin to six midway through the third quarter (11:5 and 12:6). Jadran started climbing back and reduced the gap to two goals in the fourth period (10:12). Still, Mladost answered with two quick goals, rebuilding a 4-goal lead (14:10) and maintained control until the end.

Mladost’s success was the result of a team effort, with eleven players contributing to the scoresheet. Bukic, Nagaev, Vrlic, and Tonicic were the top scorers, each netting two goals. Goalkeeper Mauro Ivan Cubranic poste 15 saves. On the opposing side, Jadran’s captain, Zvonimir Butic, scored seven goals, while Loren Fatovic added three. Their excellent performances weren’t enough for a victory.

Hrvoje Hrestak debuted as Mladost’s head coach in this match. Two weeks ago, the club dismissed Zoran Bajic and appointed Hrestak as the head coach. He has been an assistant coach until then.

As for Jug, young players – Pavlic, Susic, Mozara, and Busic – scored three goals each in a 22:9 victory over Mornar.
