Sarah Moore hosts a new season of Money for Nothing and she has shared snippets of her life away from the cameras.
Money for Nothing is back on BBC One this weekend and the reality series sees thrown-out household items given a new lease of life.
Host Sarah Moore’s job is to intercept people at waste disposal centres and take their discarded items to specialist designers, who then transform them into something spectacular.
Sarah began her career creating and selling vintage-inspired pieces at local craft fairs and was the winner of the first season of The Great Interior Design Challenge in 2014.
After launching her successful upcycling venture, she went on to host Money for Nothing and Channel 4’s Home Greek Home, where she renovated a derelict home in Skiathos.
Moore was the instigator of Money for Nothing, which has been on screens since 2015, after she visited a local recycling centre and took home someone else’s old Christmas decorations. Here is all you need to know about the star’s life beyond the screen.
Sarah Moore is happily married
Earlier this summer, Moore took to Instagram to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband, Pete.
Sharing a series of photos of the pair from over the years, she said: “Celebrating 25 years of very happy marriage. Pete picking up his silver medal for patience, husbanding and totally backing me throughout an amazing quarter century together.
“We’ve shared this with three amazing children, a lovely family, a gathering of truly special friends across many countries and some great colleagues at work. Here’s to the next 25 and Pete’s Gold medal.”
Sarah Moore initially trained as a chef
Emma Varnam spoke to Moore about where her interest in upcycling and interior design came from.
“I think that living in the middle of nowhere as a child you had to find your own occupations to keep your self busy,” she answered.
“I have always been a bit of a magpie, gathering interesting things on walks, or pebbles on beaches and then turning them into things that I like the look of.”
She did reveal she had in fact initially trained as a chef, saying: “I ran a full on top flight kitchen for an events company in the middle of London.
“For about 12 years I worked a very hard cooking and later designing menus with fabulous company Lettice. I designed service equipment, food installations and cooked for hundreds and sometimes thousands of people.
“A lot of hard graft, but a lot of fun and great team work and sense of achievement.”
Sarah Moore owns a stunning rental cottage in Sussex
One of Moore’s side ventures is the restoration of a stunning cottage in the Cathedral Quarter of Arundel, which she rents out.
15 Bond Street is described as a “unique retreat” and the description reads: “The newly renovated little house at 15 Bond Street is the perfect ‘get away from it all’ venue perched in the Cathedral quarter of the old town and is second home to interiors enthusiast and TV presenter Sarah Moore, whose trademark recycled style is featured throughout the property.”
The cottage is furnished with vintage and antique furniture, original artwork and a kitchen which “reflects Sarah’s early life as a professional chef”.
