Singer Mangli has landed in controversy after a complaint was reportedly submitted to the Telugu Film Producers Council, urging producers not to offer her playback opportunities until allegations against her are cleared.

Sampath Naik, representing the Banjara community and a member of the Telangana Movie Artists Association, said a representation has been made seeking that producers refrain from engaging her for songs for the time being. According to him, a case has been registered at Panjagutta Police Station, and Mangli has reportedly been named among the accused in what is being described as a microfinance-related scam.

He further alleged that many of the victims belong to the Banjara community and said that until her name is cleared, producers should avoid giving her work. Drawing a comparison, he said government officials are often suspended during investigations, and a similar approach should be considered in this case.

Sources in the Telugu Film Producers Council confirmed receipt of the complaint and said the matter is under examination. No official decision has been taken so far. However, there is speculation that some producers may temporarily distance themselves from projects involving the singer due to the controversy.

Industry insiders say she reportedly charges between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 per song. They note that any unofficial boycott or reduction in offers could affect both her film assignments and the reach of her independent music.

As of now, no formal action has been announced. The matter is expected to develop further depending on the progress of the investigation and the Producers Council’s response.

Dominating charts

Mangli has built a strong presence in Telugu cinema with hit tracks such as Saranga Dariya, Ramulo Ramula, Zinthak, Jwala Reddy, and Ooru Palletooru. Her independent songs, including Rela Re Rela Ra and Bayilone Balipalike, have also earned her a wide fan following across Telugu-speaking regions.
