Tennis’ 2026 Terra Wortmann Open (aka the Halle Open, as it’s played in Halle, Germany) included two American standouts in the final match on the morning of June 21.
These were Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. Ultimately, it was Tiafoe who secured the victory, defeating Fritz 6-4, 6-4 to capture what’s arguably the biggest tournament win of Tiafoe’s career to this point.
Still, Fritz advancing this far into the tournament can be seen as a victory, especially because he beat Germany’s Alexander Zverev (who recently won the 2026 French Open) in the semifinal.
And Fritz could use a win, given that he has had a tumultuous year on and off the tennis court. Off the court, Fritz’s long-term relationship with influencer Morgan Riddle came to an end in late April.
These two had been together for about five years before deciding to go their separate ways. While they remain on good terms, the fact that Riddle moved from Los Angeles in favor of New York shows that she’s keen for a fresh start.
While Fritz and Riddle are surely still getting over this heartbreak, this hasn’t stopped Riddle from being active in the Big Apple.
This was shown by an Instagram post she made earlier this week, which included photos of her wearing a Brazil jersey at the 2026 World Cup, plus several photos of her celebrating the New York Knicks winning the NBA championship.
“sportmaxxing / lifemaxxing / nycmaxxing / knicksmaxxing ❤️🔥🗽⚽️💘⛹🏽🚕,” the post was captioned.
Props to Fritz and Riddle for both being able to move on with their lives after their relationship concluded.
