Bhopal: A female dentist, serving in a district government hospital in Madhya Pradesh, has stirred a huge storm in social media by allegedly mocking slain Pune realtor Ketan Agrawal, leading to her suspension by the All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) from its membership for five years as well as from her post of treasurer of Madhya Pradesh unit of the body.
Dr. Muskan Soni, who was heard identifying in one of her posts in her Instagram account as a dentist in the district hospital at Shahdol in Madhya Pradesh, shared a purported story carrying the hashtag “I Hate Man”, mocking the deceased.
“…….. jo landa tha, uske bal hi nahin thi, ab aise jhoot bologe to moroge hi na..(The youth was bald, if he tells such a lie (meaning hiding baldness), he has to die”, she was heard saying in her purported post in the Instagram.
She was heard saying further in the post that “Do admi kya more, mard samaj mein dar faila ho” (Death of only two men has spread fear psychosis among the men)”.
She was apparently referring to the recent cases of deaths of two young men, a would-be groom and a newly married man, in a similar manner.
Pune-based realtor Ketan Agrawal died allegedly after being pushed from the Lohagad fort near Pune in Maharashtra, by her fiancée Siya Goyal and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary a couple of weeks ago.
Last year, Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvamsi was allegedly killed in a similar manner in Meghalaya by his wife Sonam during their honeymoon, in which her boyfriend Raja Kushwaha was allegedly involved.
The dentist’s posts have triggered strong reactions by the netizens leading her to issue a clarification on the social media, saying that she never meant to demean the deceased.
The AIDSA however suspended her from membership of the body, saying that the apology is not enough considering the seriousness of the matter.
The AIDSA National Working president Dr. Divakar Moodautiya issued an order placing her under suspension for five years from the association, calling her posts ‘acts of indiscipline’.
She made highly inappropriate, offensive, and disrespectful remarks against the deceased which are in violation of the association’s constitution, code of conduct and ethical values, the order said.
“Such conduct is completely unacceptable and is against the principles and values of AIDSA. The association cannot permit any office-bearer or member to make statements that appear to justify or glorify violence or show disrespect towards the deceased”, the order said.
The AIDSA national president observed that the association maintains a zero-tolerance towards conduct that undermines ethical standards or brings disrepute to the profession.
Every member is expected to uphold responsible behaviour, both professionally and on social media, he added.
The dentist later posted a clarification in her Instagram account saying that she never sought to demean any innocent on the basis of gender.
“Yes, I write, I hate man”, she was heard saying in her post and sought to justify such feelings by hinting at some unpleasant things in her past life.
She apologized for her comments.
She further said that her post after the incident said that wrong thing was done to Ketan.
