Michigan State hockey picked up a big win this past weekend so it was only fitting for one of their top players to earn a notable award from the Big Ten.
Michigan State forward Anthony Romani was named the Big Ten Second Star of the Week after his strong performance in the Spartans’ 5-3 win over then No. 8 North Dakota last weekend. Romani scored a pair of goals to help Michigan State earn the top 10 victory over the Fighting Hawks.

Romani is off to a red hot start so far this season for the Spartans. He is leading the team in points with seven goals and three assists through six games. He is also by far the team’s top scorer with the next top scorer being five different Spartans at two goals.
Michigan State hockey will look to remain hot on the year, with an upcoming two-game home series against Boston University this weekend. Romani will need to play well again for Michigan State to knock off a solid Terriers squad.
