Tollywood actor Naga Chaitanya is gearing up to expand his presence in the North Indian market with his upcoming mythological socio-fantasy Vrushakarma, which is being designed as a pan-India spectacle.

According to sources, the actor is planning aggressive promotions beyond the Telugu states. “Naga Chaitanya will spend time in Mumbai and Delhi to promote socio-fantasy since it has pan-India appeal,” says a source.

The film falls into the mystical thriller space, a genre believed to have universal reach. “Mystical thrillers don’t really face regional barriers, and that works in the film’s favour,” the source adds.

Chaitanya is also set to break away from his usual image and step into a more intense zone. “He will be seen in his fiercest transformation and a power-packed avatar, far removed from his soft lover-boy image,” the source reveals.

The actor has reportedly undergone a rigorous physical transformation for his role as Arjun. Behind-the-scenes glimpses show him pushing through grueling workout sessions to achieve a lean, chiseled physique—highlighting the level of dedication he has invested in the project.

Bollywood actor Sparsh Shrivastava of Jamtara and Laapataa Ladies fame plays a dark role in the film, marking his Telugu debut. “He will be a revelation of sorts in the film. His character represents evil forces and finds a strong match in Naga Chaitanya,” the source shares.

Directed by Karthik Dandu, the film’s scale has grown significantly during production. Initially planned on a ₹60 crore budget, it has now reportedly crossed ₹80 crore due to its expansive vision. “Audience expansion is key for such big-budget films, and exploring the Hindi market is definitely a smart move,” the source points out.

The film is jointly backed by SVCC and Sukumar Writings, with Bapineedu presenting and BVSN Prasad producing.

With Vrushakarma aiming for a wider audience and a larger cinematic canvas, it could mark a significant step in Naga Chaitanya’s journey towards establishing a pan-India identity.
