Vijayawada:Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has congratulated the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for achieving 89.4 per cent forest cover in Tirumala through conservation measures aimed at protecting forest wealth and restoring native species in the Seshachalam Hills.
In a post on X on Monday, Naidu said, “Our traditions regard nature as sacred and protecting forests and wildlife is assertive to the divine. I appreciate these efforts, which will help preserve a greener and healthier Tirumala for future generations.”
According to the TTD, around 2,431 hectares of the total 2,719 hectares under its jurisdiction are covered with forest vegetation, resulting in 89.4 per cent green cover in Tirumala, as per the latest India State of Forest Report.
The TTD said it had undertaken several initiatives across the hill region, including plantation drives with native species, wildlife protection measures and medicinal plant conservation programmes.
