Tirupati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the YSRC, alleging that it promoted fear, division and destructive politics, and urged people not to allow it to return to power in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing a public meeting at Yadamarri in Chittoor district, Naidu alleged that the previous YSRC government had weakened democratic values and encouraged politics based on intimidation, false propaganda and hatred.

He claimed attempts were made to create divisions among castes and religions for political gain and said such politics had no place in a democracy.

The Chief Minister said a government should focus not only on development and welfare but also on protecting people’s lives and property. He alleged that the previous regime failed to provide security to the public and instead created an atmosphere of fear and political hostility in the state.

Naidu accused the opposition of trying to gain political mileage through controversies, misleading campaigns and political dramas.

Referring to incidents such as the “Kodi Kathi” and “Gulakarayi” episodes, he alleged that fabricated narratives were created to mislead the public for political benefit.

He also referred to the murder of Dalit youth Subramanyam and questioned the alleged honouring of persons linked to the case.

Naidu further criticised the previous leadership over family-related disputes and alleged that even close family members were denied justice in property matters.

“Those who cannot do justice to their own mother and sister cannot protect the interests of the people,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister said people were now living freely after the NDA coalition government came to power in the state and added that his government was committed to welfare, development and protection for all sections of society.
