Nandamuri Balakrishna has sustained a minor muscle tear while shooting an action sequence for his upcoming film NBK111. The injury occurred during filming in Kakinada. The makers confirmed the news through an official statement on Tuesday.
The statement read, “During the filming of an intense action sequence for #NBK111 in Kakinada, Nandamuri Balakrishna Garu sustained a minor muscle tear.” It added, “As advised by the medical team, he will undergo a minor surgical procedure to ensure a swift and complete recovery.”
The makers praised the actor’s commitment to his craft. “His unwavering dedication, discipline and passion for cinema continue to inspire everyone on the sets of #NBK111,” the statement said. They also moved to calm fans. “The procedure is routine and there is absolutely no cause for concern. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to welcoming him back to the sets very soon.”
Fans have no reason to be stressed
Director Gopichand Malineni also addressed the concerns. He said, “Fans need not worry. We wholeheartedly wish for him to recover quickly and rejoin the shoot.”

Balakrishna’s nephew, actor Nandamuri Kalyanram, wished him well on social media. He wrote, “Get well soon Babai. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I am sure you will be back in action in no time, doing what you love the most.”
Previous injuries
This is not the first time Balakrishna has been hurt while shooting. In 2014, he injured his leg while filming a bike chase sequence on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway. He was rushed to Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar, where doctors found a major wound between his toes that required stitches. He was later discharged and advised rest. In 2021, during rehearsals for a song in Akhanda, the actor dislocated his shoulder. Director Boyapati Srinu revealed that Balakrishna insisted on continuing the shoot the next day despite the pain, saying he wanted to give fans the treat they deserved.
