NELLORE: Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy has urged the Centre to expedite the proposed 100-bed Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital in Nellore by initiating the tender process for its construction.
In a letter to Union labour and employment minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the MP requested immediate directions to the authorities concerned to invite tenders for the hospital and staff quarters.
Prabhakar Reddy said a suitable site for the hospital has already been identified at the district headquarters, while one acre has been earmarked separately for staff quarters. He said the sites have been inspected by the competent authorities and found suitable for the project.
The MP said the proposed hospital would provide improved healthcare services to workers and their families, particularly the large labour population in the district.
He said the establishment of the ESI hospital would strengthen healthcare access and welfare support for insured workers and their dependants.
Pointing out that land identification and site inspections have already been completed, Prabhakar Reddy urged the Centre to move the project into the execution stage by calling for tenders at the earliest.
