With this on full display, along with a man enclosed in the not-so-real room, drivers, pedestrians, and social media users remained stunned.

Who is the man trapped inside the Netflix billboard? The mystery revealed

Well, it’s just a marketing stunt. Netflix got the OOH ad assignment right and brought out something that someone could possibly never have thought of. So, who is the man being displayed in the Netflix billboard, or may we say, live board? Let’s find out, along with Netflix’s jaw-dropping marketing stunt and the context behind it.

Netflix’s viral stunt has been grabbing attention lately, and hats off to the copywriter who planned this out. Speaking of the man, he couldn’t be identified. But it has been revealed that he’s an actor. If the reports are to be believed, he entered the installation back on August 6, 2026, and will leave by August 8, 2026. Netflix’s marketing stunt has left everyone talking; it’s live, it’s eerie, and obviously something fresh and new.

Spoilers Ahead!

As of now, it’s the same actor who is seen inside the billboard, and he could be seen performing skillfully to show a rather confused and miserable state while having his meal. The entire theme is kept with the plot of the recently released movie, The Last House, which is getting good responses from the audience out there. Now, with the slight glimpse of a man being trapped inside a billboard, people who haven’t planned to watch the movie will definitely take a moment to understand the mystery around being trapped by the looming force outside.

The stunt is actually for the film, The Last House. The movie was released on August 7, 2026, and it’s a sci-fi survival thriller, directed by Louis Leterrier. The movie stars Greta Lee and Wagner Moura as parents who are trapped inside a home by a mysterious force from outside. Keeping the theme aligned, Netflix’s marketing stunt of installing a live whiteboard where the trapped performer would try to communicate with commuters and passersby is thrilling in itself. Netflix released glimpses of the advertisement and revealed:

“He’ll attempt to maintain a sense of normalcy over extended periods of time while ‘stuck’ in his elevated, enclosed set 30 feet above the ground at Selma Avenue and Sunset Blvd, communicating with commuters and passersby below via whiteboard as an eerie nod to the family’s own isolation in the film.”

More about The Last House

The Last House shows four family members being suddenly trapped inside their house, and there’s just no way out. All four of them must work together to survive against both their dwindling resources and the mysterious, looming threat that is responsible for keeping them stuck in their home. The parents, ‘Jason’ and ‘Ann’, had to protect their kids, so they kept silent about what was happening.

However, as time passed, it became impossible for the parents to keep the truth a secret, and an important decision had to be made to survive. Five years passed by, and the ‘Delgado’ family ended up creating a self-sufficient life for themselves. However, soon their daughter was bitten by an animal, which required them to go outside for medicine. This led them to come across an underground pipe, and then things started to shift.
