People could dry their clothes faster indoors this winter and slash the risk of developing mould by investing in Lidl’s latest gadget when it arrives in stores next week. Shoppers should see the “practical” dehumidifying device on offer alongside the supermarket’s upcoming home event.
Coming to stores next Sunday, September 27, the TRONIC Dehumidifier will feature alongside other household items for £79.99. Describing it online, Lidl wrote that the appliance comes with two preset programs – one to dehumidify and another specifically to dry laundry – and can soak up to 10 litres of moisture from the air over 24 hours.
The unit comes with a removable water tank that can hold up to 2.1 litres. To avoid any guesswork, the tank has a window to check exactly how much water has been collected, a “warning signal” when the water tank needs to be emptied, and “overflow protection” to prevent spills.
The £80 unit comes with castors, allowing shoppers to easily move the dehumidifier where it is needed. It also has a “practical handle” on top that folds flush when owners need to carry the unit to another area.
For £79.99, Lidl’s TRONIC Dehumidifier includes the unit itself, a 30cm drainage hose, a garden hose adaptor, and a removable/washable filter. Stock is likely to be limited, so shoppers should aim to get to a local Lidl store early on Sunday, September 28, as stores often only get a handful of large items.

This prevents external humidity from entering the room, allowing the dehumidifier to efficiently create a localised “dry bubble” that accelerates evaporation.
Next, position your dehumidifier close to the clothing rack, making sure its air vents face directly across the garments rather than into a wall. To maximise this effect, place a small desk fan on the opposite side of the airer to simulate a warm, windy day by continuously circulating the dry air through the fabrics.
Finally, arrange your laundry on the rack with gaps between each item to ensure that the circulating air can pass freely between them. Hanging smaller items at the bottom and larger, heavier pieces at the top prevents crowding and allows the entire load to dry evenly and quickly.
