Marks and Spencer has also said when it will happen
Marks & Spencer has announced a change that will affect 100 stores in the UK.
It has signed up to a partnership with beauty giant Sephora, which will see the brand take over beauty departments across a significant number of its stores. The high street stalwart confirmed it will roll out the Sephora operation across 100 M&S stores and its online platform from spring 2027.
M&S described the move, which will create Sephora at M&S, as the “next step” in the overhaul of its fashion, home and beauty offering. Sephora-branded beauty departments will replace existing M&S beauty areas across the 100 stores, stocking a wide range of branded products.
M&S will continue to stock its own beauty range in stores. A handful of locations with existing beauty departments will not be included in the initial roll-out, retaining their own beauty sections focused on own-label products.
M&S beauty deal
The two brands say the collaboration will bring Sephora’s specialist beauty expertise to a wider audience across the UK, potentially drawing in a new wave of shoppers to M&S. LVMH-owned Sephora, which was founded in Limoges, France, in 1969, has rapidly expanded its UK presence in recent years, now boasting 18 shops across the country.
The partnership will introduce a host of established beauty products, up-and-coming brands and exclusive lines spanning skincare, makeup, fragrance, haircare and bodycare to M&S stores.
John Lyttle, managing director of fashion, home and beauty at M&S, said: “We’re transforming fashion, home and beauty at MandS, creating a better experience for our customers and building a more efficient, more profitable business.
“Our new partnership with Sephora is the next step in this transformation. Beauty is an important category for MandS, with the potential to attract new customers to shop with us and give existing customers the opportunity to shop with us more often.”
‘Redefine high street beauty’
Sarah Boyd, managing director of Sephora UK, said: “Together, we can redefine what high street beauty means for customers across the UK, bringing the very best curated brand and beauty experience to the MandS stores to complement their food, fashion and home expertise.
“We are excited to introduce our incredible beauty advisors to the stores to provide a truly personalised experience, and to reach customers in more communities where they already live, shop and spend their time. This partnership marks an important milestone in our continuing drive to become a truly winning formula on the UK high street.”
