
TEHRAN- The Commercial Attaché of Iran in Tajikistan, while introducing new cooperation opportunities in the agricultural sector, reported that the agricultural market of Tajikistan is moving towards technology transfer, joint production, and investment.
According to a report by the Public Relations Department of the Iran Trade Promotion Organization, Mohammad Ali Amirfakhrian, referring to a specialized meeting with officials of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, said: The capacities for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of seedling production, animal breeding, veterinary medicines, fisheries, processing industries, modern irrigation, mechanization, and investment in the value chain of agricultural products were reviewed, and the continuation of expert consultations was emphasized.
According to him; conducted studies show that Tajikistan’s agricultural sector has significant needs in areas such as seedling production, animal breeding, development of related industries, increasing water resource productivity, and modernization of production technologies, which overlap with the technical and specialized capabilities of Iranian companies.
The Commercial Attaché of Iran in Tajikistan, referring to the investment capacities in this sector, stated: Development of cooperation in the areas of seedling production, industrial livestock farming, animal breeding, production of veterinary medicines, and investment in agricultural lands was among the most important topics discussed between the two sides. Amirfakhrian, stating that the Tajik Ministry of Agriculture welcomes the expansion of cooperation with capable foreign companies, said: The continuation of expert dialogues, exchange of technical information, introduction of private sector capacities, and holding specialized meetings will provide the groundwork for identifying joint projects and developing long-term cooperation.
He also considered the preparation and publication of a booklet in Russian and Tajik languages to introduce companies, organizations, and the capabilities of Iran’s agricultural sector as an effective measure in introducing the country’s capacities and facilitating trade cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan.
The Commercial Attaché of Iran in Tajikistan emphasized: The topics raised in these meetings were conducted within the framework of identifying cooperation capacities between the two countries, and the implementation of any cooperation or investment will be subject to technical, economic, and legal studies and the completion of legal procedures.
