NFL player Terrion Arnold served a stone-faced stare as he appeared by video from jail for his first court appearance after being hit with kidnapping charges.
The 23-year-old Lions cornerback made a brief appearance from Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa, Florida Thursday afternoon, wearing a green vest as other defendants wearing orange jail clothes sat in chairs behind him waiting for their own video court appearances.
Arnold is set to return to court Monday where his lawyers and prosecutors will make arguments about whether he should stay locked up, after prosecutors said at Thursday’s hearing they wanted him to remain behind bars until he’s tried.
He was hit with bombshell charges that he was the mastermind behind a plot to kidnap, beat and rob three people he thought stole over $250,000 from him and others at an Airbnb in Largo, Fl.
The victims, including Arnold’s personal driver, were allegedly lured to an apartment in February where Arnold and six of his cronies brutally beat them at gunpoint and pistol whipped them before stealing their things, authorities have said.
He faces four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery and faces up to life if convicted on the top charges.
His manager said he “categorically denies any involvement” in the alleged conspiracy.
