The NFL’s third week delivered another shakeup at the betting window, with one team making history for all the wrong reasons and the contenders separating themselves from the pretenders.
Several early-season surprises are also beginning to make their mark on the futures market, with a handful of award contenders seeing their odds shift dramatically.
Here are the biggest betting trends coming out of Week 3.
Buccaneers make betting history — for all the wrong reasons
The Buccaneers have become a bettor’s worst nightmare.
Sunday’s 23-16 loss to the Vikings marked Tampa Bay’s 12th consecutive game without covering the spread, the longest such skid in the Super Bowl era, according to Action Network.
The Bucs have been favored in eight of those games, including last week’s stunning loss to the Browns as nine-point favorites.
Tampa Bay hasn’t covered since Week 8 of the 2025 season, when it defeated the Saints, 23-3.
Things aren’t looking much better heading into Week 4, with the Bucs opening as home underdogs against the Packers.
Raiders, Bears climb as Packers, Chargers slide
The Raiders and Bears were among the biggest winners in the playoff futures market following Week 3.
Las Vegas shortened from +245 to +160 at DraftKings Sportsbook after improving to 3-0, while Chicago jumped from +130 to -108 following its rout of the Eagles.
The Falcons also made a sizable move, going from +730 to +255 after stunning Green Bay.
The Packers, meanwhile, slipped from +120 to +215, and the winless Chargers tumbled from +280 to +460.
Tampa Bay’s 0-3 start has been even more costly, sending its postseason odds from +250 to +520.
Love leads rookie race as Sadiq surges
Jeremiyah Love is beginning to separate himself in the Offensive Rookie of the Year market.
The Cardinals running back rushed for 109 yards Sunday against the 49ers, sending his odds from +370 last week to +150 at DraftKings.

But Jets tight end Kenyon Sadiq made an even bigger leap, going from +4000 to +1000 after breaking out for seven catches, 105 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s loss to the Lions.
Sadiq, who opened the season at +4500, now has the fifth-shortest odds for the award, behind Love, Denzel Boston (+700), KC Concepcion (+900) and Jadarian Price (+950).
Purdy closes gap in MVP race
Josh Allen remains the MVP favorite, but Brock Purdy is quickly closing the gap.
The 49ers quarterback tossed four touchdown passes in Sunday’s 36-30 win over the Cardinals, keeping San Francisco unbeaten despite its mounting injury issues.
Betting on the NFL?
Purdy has now thrown nine touchdowns and just one interception through three games, helping send his MVP odds from +800 last week to +425 at DraftKings, second only to Allen (+260).
Lamar Jackson (+600), Patrick Mahomes (+800) and Joe Burrow (+850) round out the top five.
Drake Maye, meanwhile, has tumbled to +8000 after turning the ball over three times in the Patriots’ blowout loss to Jacksonville.
