Ooty:While Deepavali-related special discount sale has got under way at the Co-optex here, Rs. 85 lakh has been fixed as Deepavali sales target for Co-optex in the Nilgiris this Deepavali.
The Co-optex management here said this largest apex handloom weavers’ cooperative society had been helping weavers across the state to market their products across the country for their livelihood.
The silk sari varieties of Co-optex are major attractions which have been witnessing good patronage. They appeal to the hill residents to patronise Co-optex in a big way to boost its sales, as it will benefit thousands of handloom weavers across the state.
For this Deepavali season, varieties of silk saris are on sale to meet the requirements of all sections of society. This apart, new designs and varieties in soft silk saris, high quality cotton saris, bedspreads, blankets, pillow covers, lungis, dhotis, towels, linen shirting, readymade shirts, home furnishings, organic cotton saris, quilts and a host of other handloom items are available.
A 30 per cent discount is given for all handloom items for Deepavali.
