Kakinada: Water resources development minister Nimmala Rama Naidu on Saturday urged people not to believe the YSRC, alleging that the party had damaged the state during its five-year rule.
He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for development works worth ₹7.60 crore in Palakollu constituency. The minister said the previous YSRC government had pushed the state into financial distress, burdening it with a debt of ₹14 lakh crore and placing an estimated liability of ₹2.40 lakh on each individual.
He alleged that statements by YSRC leaders, including party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, were provoking violence and were not in the state’s interest.
The minister said any political party seeking power should clearly outline its development and welfare agenda. He added that the present alliance government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is focused on development and welfare.
