Former MLB pitcher Noah Syndergaard said it was comical that his ex, podcaster Alex Cooper, took a “cheap shot” at him in the public eye after their 2017 breakup.

During a Tuesday appearance on OutKick’s “Tomi Lahren is Fearless,” Syndergaard was asked about Cooper and a remark she made about him — saying he “Can’t get a f–king contract” — while on her “Call Her Daddy” podcast in 2023.

“I haven’t spoken to her in eight years or so,” said Syndergaard, who was in the midst of his eight-year tenure with the Mets when they dated. “So, I guess I continue to live rent free in her head. I don’t really know.

“Cheap shot, but she’s entitled to her own opinion and freedom of speech so I can’t really control what comes out of her mouth. It doesn’t really bother me. It’s kind of comical, but whatever.”

Lahren added, “I’m sure she’s changed a lot since you knew her.”

Syndergaard, who replied, “Not really,” explained that he didn’t want to discuss it further. “I dont want to get into it. I don’t want to kick the hornets nest any more than I have.”

Syndergaard added that he is currently in a relationship that he prefers to “keep under wraps.”

He described himself as a “homebody” and explained that his lifestyle and relationship choices have drastically changed since his MLB days.

“I had my fun in New York when I played there … You’re not going to see me out at a club on the weekends,” Syndergaard said. “I value not hungover Saturday and Sunday mornings. I go to the farmers market, golfing … I’m just more interested in waking up and feeling my best everyday.”

Cooper previously took a shot at Syndergaard but did not name him while discussing her MLB exes with TikTok star Alix Earle during an episode of her “Call Her Daddy” podcast in September 2023.

Syndergaard, 33, last played in the majors with the Cleveland Guardians before his release in August 2023.

He was released by the Chicago White Sox in August 2025 following a minor league stint.

Cooper and Syndergaard began dating in April 2017, when they were spotted kissing at a Knicks game, as previously reported by The Post.

After an on-off relationship, Syndergaard appeared to indicate he was single in a post on Twitter, now X, in December 2017, which read: “Baseball is my significant other” with the hashtag, “focus.”

Cooper reflected on the relationship in an interview with Rolling Stone published in September 2023.

“I was living this very glamorous lifestyle because he was rich,” she said. “And I was nobody.”

Cooper married film producer Matt Kaplan, a former quarterback at Columbia University, in April 2024.
