Oasis legend Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais has done a joint interview with her mum, Meg Matthews, giving rare insight into the reality of her childhood and the pros and cons of being a nepo baby
Being Noel Gallagher’s daughter must certainly come with its perks, but as Brooklyn Beckham ’s infamous fall out with his parents shows – it doesn’t take much for things to go horribly wrong. That however, is something Noel, 58, has managed to swerve with his daughter Anais, 26 – who he shares with ex wife Meg Matthews. In a candid joint interview with The Times Meg, 60 and Anais spoke about her less than conventional childhood and how she has managed to grow into a grounded and confident young woman. Meg told the newspaper: “She [Anais] has been in therapy since she was 13 and I think that was the best thing that me and her dad could have done for her.”

Anais was also all praise of parents who dominated the 90s party scene with their antics. Noel has also been open about his historic drug use in 1997 he claimed that taking drugs was “like getting up and having a cup of tea in the morning”. Influencer Anais shared how her parents didn’t hide anything from her and was all praise of the Oasis star’s parenting style.
Anais said: “The stamina of my parents and their friends in the Nineties was incredible. I know all the stories but I can’t equate my parents with them, especially my dad, who stopped doing drugs before I was born.
“He was always a really great girl-dad. I was obsessed with One Direction and he made sure I got tickets.”
She went on to compare herself to Noel – who also has sons Donovan, 18, and Sonny, 15, from his marriage to Sara MacDonald – saying their personalities are similar, calling herself a “bit standoffish” and “guarded.”
Despite the infamous on/off relationship between Noel and his brother Liam, and the numerous fallouts over the years. Meg clarified that whatever goes on with the Gallagher family doesn’t impact everyone else’s relationships.
Meg said: “She [Anais] gets on with her dad and her Uncle Liam, and the cousins are all friends too. They decided early on that their dads’ arguing wouldn’t interfere with their relationships with each other.” The harmony is unusual celebrity families and Anias puts that down to good parenting but isn’t afraid to admit she’s been fortunate enough to have her parents and appreciates nepotism is at play and said, “It wouldn’t shock me if neither of my parents knew what I do. They don’t understand that posting on social media can be a job.”
Meg backs up the sentiment and sounds incredibly proud of her daughter and added: “She’s an influencer – I don’t understand what she actually does….
“She lives a normal life in a not-very-glamorous place next to a railway track. Her dad pays her rent but she doesn’t get an allowance from either of us.” The Mirror approached a representative for Noel for comment.
