Hyderabad:IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu on Tuesday invited Norwegian companies to invest in Telangana, positioning the state as Norway’s ideal partner in India for life sciences, healthcare and green technologies.

Speaking at a meeting with a high‑level Norwegian delegation led by Ambassador May‑Elin Stener at the Secretariat, Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana’s investor‑friendly policies, ease‑of‑doing‑business reforms and world‑class infrastructure. He urged Norwegian firms to tap opportunities in life sciences, digital health, biotechnology and medical devices, citing the state’s robust innovation ecosystem.

He praised Norway’s global leadership in clean energy, sustainable infrastructure, electric mobility, offshore wind and climate innovation, proposing deeper collaboration in AI, climate tech, health tech, cybersecurity, green hydrogen, battery technology and industrial decarbonisation. The minister said the government was ready to craft a roadmap and form a “Telangana–Norway Working Group” for regular engagement among agencies, industry leaders and investors.

Ambassador Stener responded positively, affirming Norway’s interest in partnering with progressive states like Telangana. “We are ready to work with Telangana. We will take further steps to strengthen bilateral relations and initiate the working group,” she said.

Bjorn Iversen, head of Innovation Norway, Silje Christine Andersen, first secretary, and Siri Veseth Meling, director in the Norwegian ministry of foreign affairs, along with senior officials, attended the meeting.
