Wild footage shows an oblivious man sleeping on a roadside bench narrowly escape death when a billboard crashes inches from his head.
The near disaster unfolded when a truck barreled into the nearby sign, sending it torpedoing towards the man’s head and jolting him awake on Sept 7 in Chaozhou, China.
The lucky, shoe-less sleeper appeared uninjured, with the corner of the billboard smashing into a pack of cigarettes next to him, according to the video obtained by Fox News.
Online commentators compared the close call to a scene out of the “Final Destination” horror films.
“That’s like when Teddy Roosevelt almost got assassinated but a thick piece of paper in his coat pocket blocked the bullet,” observed a viewer.
Others said it was a sign for him to quit his dangerous habit.
“Smoking’s bad for you. A sign from God. It will kill you,” a commentator noted.
Another agreed, writing, “I would take that as a sign to stop smoking!”
