Olympiacos became champions of the Greek League after beating Vouliagmeni 9:7 at the Laimos Swimming Pool, Vouliagmeni’s home venue.
Goals were hard to come by in an nervous first quarter with both teams exchanging one converted penalty each by the end of the period (1:1), with both goalkeepers, Kotsionis and Stamatopoulou saving every effort in open play in the first quarter.
The second quarter started the opposite to the first, with both sides managing to score on their first attempt. Both teams canceled each other out in the second quarter with Plevritou’s shot for Olympiacos with four seconds left of the period keeping both teams level going into the half.
In the third quarter, both teams failed to take their chances before Tricha finally gave Olympiacos the edge in the match through a penalty. Olympiacos’ Myriokefalitaki gave them the first two goal advantage for either team in the game (7:5), but it didn’t last long as a great shot by Xenaki reduced the deficit to one with eight minutes left.
The final started brilliantly for Olympiacos, with Andrews taking advantage of a counter attack and Ninou’s action shot goal bringing Olympiacos three goals ahead (8:5), leading Vouliagmeni needing to call a time out. Vouliagmeni would immediately score after the time out through Joustra, but Ninou scored another goal to regain a three goal lead and to cement their place as champions this season.
After losing to Vouliagmeni 3–2 in the 2025 final, Olympiacos enacted their revenge and earned their sixteenth title and twelfth in thirteen years. They will now turn their attention to the Champions League Final Four in a weeks time.
