Olympiacos marches toward Greek title

Olympiacos recorded its 2nd victory in the Greek League playoffs final, beating Panathinaikos 20:14 in an away game, and now has a chance to secure a new title as early as the third game in front of its fans.

The Red Whites were in control from the start. Panathinaikos leveled only once (1:1), but managed to follow the visitors for a quarter and a half, reducing the gap to one goal at 3:4, 4:5, and 5:6. Three minutes before the middle break, Olympiacos established a 3-goal lead for the first time (8:5) . At halftime it stood 9:6. Olympiacos ruled the field in the third period, scoring seven and conceding three goals to jump to a comfortable 16:9 lead before the final quarter.

Gergo Zalanki was Olympiacos’s top scorer with four goals, and Skoumpakis scored five for Panathinaikos.

Apollon, led by Nikola Bogdanovic, who scored four goals, opened the third-place playoffs with a 14:13 victory over Vouliagmeni
