Olympic gymnast Simone Biles revealed on her Instagram on Saturday that she was hospitalized earlier in the week.
Biles did not go into further detail, but did share, “Almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card.”
The Olympic gymnast added that it was one of the scariest experiences of her life. She added that part of that was due to her husband, Jonathan Owens, being in Indianapolis for practices.

Owens is an NFL safety and signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts this offseason.

Biles continued in her post that she has been resting in bed this week, but did add that she will explain the circumstances “sooner or later.” The gymnast has not indicated anything about what caused her experience.
Biles earned four medals at the Paris Olympics in 2024. She is 29 years old but has not ruled out competing in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
While that is in the future, Biles will focus now on continuing to recover. The Olympian posted a story on Saturday from her bed at home with the caption, “I’ll be here,” and with one of her dogs on either side of her.
