James Lafferty and Alexandra Park decided not to announce they were expecting, but four month after baby River’s arrival they shared their incredible news with fans
One Tree Hill star James Lafferty revealed that he and his co-star wife welcomed their first child late last year.
James and Alexandra Park have only just confirmed that their baby was born back in December, keeping the incredible news quiet for four months. James first met the Australian actress in 2015 when he was directing an episode of The Royals, which she starred in as Princess Eleanor.
They fell in love after getting to know each other on set and went on to create and star in their own series, Everyone Is Doing Great playing married couple Jeremy and Andrea Davis. The stars tied the knot in Hawaii four years ago as they said ‘I do’ surrounded by family and friends.
Now they’re parents and finally made the news public in joint Instagram post featured a black-and-white photo of the couple’s fingets intertwined with the baby’s tiny hands. “Love has new meaning,” they wrote in the caption alongside the child’s name, River Jay Lafferty.
James added the date, “12/4/2025,” which means they have been mum and dad for months. They decided to turn comments off on the post after letting fans know they had welcomed the tot into the world.
Alexandra spoke of the challenges Jeremy and Andrea and how they navigate playing a couple on screen when actually being married. “James and I met working together,” she said.
“That’s one of the things we love about our relationship together is that we are both so passionate about what we do and we actually met on The Royals where James was directing me back in season two, so yeah it’s really not that strange” she told Who magazine.
She gushed over her husband to E! News and said she felt fortunate to have him in her life. She said: “We’ve been together for such a long time, we’re on our ninth year of being together now so James took his time proposing.
“I don’t know if it surprised me, but it’s better. I feel like it was just the right thing for us to lock it down, because we’re best friends.”
They made their names on One Tree Hill, a much loved American teen drama television series that ran for nine seasons from 2003 to 2012.
Set in the fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, it follows the lives of half-brothers, Lucas and Nathan Scott – played by Jamdes – who start as rivals but bond over basketball and friendship.
