The performances are uniformly excellent. Siddharth delivers one of his finest performances as Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja. He brings warmth, dignity and quiet authority to the role of a mentor who understands each of his young pilots and leads them by example. His performance gives the series its emotional heart.
Jimmy Shergill is equally effective as Wing Commander BS Dhanoa, ‘Tony’. He perfectly embodies the qualities of a commanding officer who treats his squadron like family while carrying the weight of immense responsibility. His calm and reassuring presence makes him an ideal leader.
Abhay Verma is a standout as Flying Officer RS Dhaliwal, ‘Dhali’. He begins as an overconfident pilot but gradually matures into a dependable officer who understands the importance of teamwork. His transformation is one of the most satisfying aspects of the series. Mihir Ahuja impresses as Flying Officer CH Bal Reddy, ‘Baldy’, whose intelligence and composed personality make him instantly likeable. His romance with Madhavi Reddy (Prajakta Koli) provides a gentle emotional thread that blends naturally into the larger narrative.
Dia Mirza delivers a graceful performance as Kamalpreet Dhanoa, while Amrita Bagchi is equally impressive as Alka Ahuja, reminding viewers that military families make sacrifices every bit as real as those serving on the frontlines. Taaruk Raina shines as Flight Lieutenant Jitendra Sangwan, ‘Sangy’, and Arnav Bhasin makes a strong impression as Flying Officer Amit Gupta, ‘Goofy’, adding energy and camaraderie to the squadron.
Among the supporting cast, Adil Hussain lends quiet authority as Air Marshal Vinod Patney. Manu Rishi Chaddha makes for a convincing General Pervez Musharraf, portraying him as an ambitious and calculating military leader. Vinay Pathak gives Nawaz Sharif a measured and layered portrayal, while Aanjjan Srivastav captures the calm and reassuring presence of Atal Bihari Vajpayee with admirable restraint.
Overall, Operation Safed Sagar is an inspiring and well-crafted war drama that successfully combines thrilling aerial action with moving human stories. Strong writing, assured direction and consistently impressive performances make it an engaging watch from beginning to end.
