Hyderabad:Osmania University (OU) released the admission schedule for special education courses for the 2026‑27 academic year, with applications opening on June 1. The exams have been scheduled for the last week of July, while counselling is expected in the first week of August. Admissions will cover courses offered by institutions including the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (AYJNISHD), Helen Keller’s Institute, Swayamkrushi, Thakur Hari Prasad Institute, Padmanayaka Institute, Maa Institute, Sahara Institute, Andhra Mahila Sabha College of Education and Ashray‑Akruti Institute.
OU said advertisements for admissions will be issued between May 25 and May 30. Sale and receipt of applications will continue from June 1 to July 6. Applications with a late fee of ₹200 will be accepted until July 15, and the final date for submission to the directorate of admissions is July 20.
According to the directorate of admissions, OU recently held a meeting with representatives of institutions offering special education programmes to finalise the process and timelines.
