More than 70 pharmaceutical companies would participate in the 17th Indian Pharma Fair here on October 23 and 24. The two-day event would attract 6,000 to 8,000 industry professionals from across the country.
Founder of Pharmexcil India and former director-general and director of the national pharmaceutical pricing authority, Appai Padmanabhan, would inaugurate the exhibition at 11am on Friday.
The exhibition is being organised with the involvement of the Krishna district chemists and druggists association led by its president CC Keshava Rao and secretary P Murali Krishna.
The organisers said the fair would provide opportunities for business networking, product promotion and commercial partnerships.
The participating companies include the Medicant Group, Psychocare Health, Best Biotech, Suraksha Pharma, United Labs, Bajaj Formulations, Bajaj Nutraceuticals and Biophar Lifesciences, among others.
Products on display will include pharmaceutical formulations, generic medicines, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, herbal and Ayurvedic products and veterinary medicines. Services such as third-party and contract manufacturing, PCD franchises, loan licensing and exports would also be arranged.
The organisers said the fair would help manufacturers promote their brands and explore business opportunities, while allowing retailers, wholesalers and distributors to compare products, prices and quality. They expressed confidence that the event would strengthen Vijayawada’s position as a pharmaceutical trade hub in south India.
