Nicole Kidman’s co-star Nick Offerman has revealed the “astonishing” moment she was rushed to hospital during filming of Margo’s Got Money Troubles.

Nicole Kidman was rushed to hospital while filming the new Apple TV series, Margo’s Got Money Troubles, and her co-star has revealed the details of that stressful day.

Nick Offerman, 55, plays former wrestler Jinx in the new comedy-drama series which features an all-star cast including Michelle Pfeffer as a former Hooter’s waitress, and Nicole, 58, as Lace, a former wrestler turned lawyer.

The latest episode of the show sees former wrestlers Jinx and Lace reunite as the former takes his daughter Margo (Elle Fanning) to a fan convention, but Nick revealed it wasn’t an easy ride for Nicole, who had to go to hospital soon after the scene was filmed.

Speaking to People on Wednesday, Nick revealed: “We’re there in the morning, we’re getting warmed up – some of us are going to be performing some actual wrestling, and so we have our doubles, we have people we’re working with. And the word comes in that Nicole has the flu, and we might not get Nicole today. And we’re like, ‘Oh no, that’s such a bummer, because we only have the one day that we’ve built this whole circus for.'”

“It’s about 8am in the morning that we get this news. Come to be about 11 am., the word comes in: Nicole’s coming,” the Parks and Recreation star continued.

He added that the Hollywood actress arrived “so sick” and was a complete “superhero” on the set: “She was so pale, shaken. She just had the flu really so bad. She showed up and made sure that we got every shot of her, total superhero style, did everything we needed to so that we did not lose one scrap of what we needed for her character.”

He added that as soon as she was finished for the day, the star “was literally taken to the hospital for an IV.”

“And I just said to her, I already admired you so much, but this is how you get to be Nicole Kidman, is you show up so that your show doesn’t lose a minute of your value,” he said. “It was so generous. It was astonishing.”

Margo’s Got Money Troubles has been a huge success following its release on April 15, with viewers already calling it “too real” as the series racks up strong early ratings.

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is based on the novel of the same name by Rufi Thorpe, bringing the story of a young mother navigating financial instability to the screen in a high-profile adaptation.

The show has already earned a 95% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviews highlighting its mix of humour and emotional depth. The New York Times called it “empathetic, funny and openhearted”.
