WARANGAL: Mahabubabad district police on Wednesday organised a bike rally involving parents and children to promote helmet use under the ‘Arrive Alive’ initiative.

The rally, led by Superintendent of Police P. Shabarish, began at the Town Police Station and passed through major thoroughfares in the town. It focused on creating awareness among parents and school-going children on the importance of wearing helmets, particularly for pillion riders.

Parents, teachers and children participated in the rally, carrying placards highlighting road safety messages. SP Shabarish, who took part along with his child, said ensuring the safety of children while travelling is the responsibility of parents.

Addressing participants, he cautioned against neglecting helmets even for short-distance travel. “Accidents are unpredictable, and a helmet is the primary life-saving tool for both adults and children,” he said, adding that helmets must be of proper size and securely fastened.

Police also advised citizens to adhere to speed limits, avoid triple riding and follow traffic rules. The department said children can play a role in reminding parents to wear helmets and contribute to safer road practices.
